Why "Zamler"

Collecting, done by many hands.

Zamler is Yiddish for collector.

The name comes from the zamlers — the volunteer gatherers who once fanned out to collect and preserve ordinary objects and testimony before they were lost. Collecting as an act of care, carried out by many hands rather than by wealth. That is the posture we chose: we are on the collector's side.

The mark is a struck coin — a reeded edge, a rim, an incuse Z, pressed into monochrome metal. A neutral parent above two coloured products: the die, and the strikes. We registered the first domain in 2021 and spent the years since building the engine, not chasing the announcement. What ships now is the patient version of that idea — struck, not printed.

We call it Photographic Cabinet grading — a grade read from photographs, the European complement to American slabbing. It's a considered read of the coin in front of you, not a guarantee of authenticity or value.

No. Point your phone at a coin and start. A specialist may still want to verify a variety from full-resolution images — we leave room for that judgment rather than replace it.

Zamler is a brand of Expanse UG (haftungsbeschränkt) & Co. KG. We'd rather say that plainly than claim a structure we don't yet hold.
